Spore Suspensions and Inoculation Syringe
DESCRIPTION
The syringes are available with a needle of 20cm length. The syringe is used to inject 100 µl of suspension.
The suspensions are available separately and are accompanied by a certificate identifying population, D– and z-values. The spore suspensions meet with the EN ISO 11138-1 to 5 standards. The suspension is 10 ml in 40 % ethanol. The Geobacillus Stearothermophilus or Bacillus Atrophaeus population in Colony Forming Units (CFU) per millilitre are available in different concentrations.
Application
The spore suspensions together with the inoculation syringe are used for direct inoculation to test critical areas inside of complex hollow instruments at the most difficult sterilant penetration location. Direct inoculation is necessary when standard biological indicators cannot be inserted to test for sterility inside instruments.
Following a sterilisation the instruments must be aseptically incubated and evaluated by an experience laboratory.
